Bernardo's is the original Costa Rican run establishment of this type on Playa Junquillal and is now run by bartender and Restaurant Manager Adriana. It's the perfect spot to gather just before sunset and party with the locals at the beachfront bar.

Las Tuquitas

Gelda continues the family's 50 year tradition of serving rustic-authentic Costa Rican fare. The cooking is prepared entirely on a custom molded cement wood-fired stove. Gelda perfects each meal with loving heart and hands . Las Tuquitas is regarded as something very special indeed. (definitely try the patacones with guacamole!)

La Vida Buena

La Vida Buena, an open-air restaurant nestled amongst the palms serves lunch and dinner. Chef Mario has worked in high end restaurants both in Costa Rica and abroad prior to opening La Vida Buena. We categorize this restaurant as international with a Tico twist. Aside from delicious the entries are of generous portion and reasonably priced. Local General Store - Super Mercado

A general store about 5 minutes from the Villas. Loris the owner of Super Marcado is now in a brand new building and offers pretty much everything you might need in a pinch. Do you need fresh avocados? rice and beans? sour cream? Discover the Trit! (the ultimate ice cream sandwich.) Aloe Vera gel for your sunburn? All this and more you will find at the Super Mercado! (as well as ingredients for sunset drinks by the pool.) The staff doesn't speak a whole lot of English, but they'll teach you Spanish.

Art's Taxi for hire

Art hails from the southern United States and has been calling Costa Rica her home for the past 20 years. She is delightful and very helpful as a guide for those looking to explore the surrounding area.
